Comment for Pool Equipment : Hayward 6060 Booster Pool Pump

I had a pool put in regarding three years ago. The pool builder put in 3 Hayward pumps, a Hayward cartridge filter, a Hayward Phantom Turbo cleaner, and a Goldline (Hayward) Aqua Logic controller. At initial, I thought the Hayward package was glorious. The pumps worked well and were moderately quiet. However, I've come back to be concerned concerning Hayward quality.
This booster pump went out because the motor seal went dangerous (once three years of normal use with no "dry runs" or abnormal water conditions). Unfortunately, Hayward will not sell repair kits for the motor. You'll get replacements for many alternative elements (e.g., seal-plate o-ring, seal-plate assembly, etc.); you'll also buy a replacement motor. However, the price of the motor was nearly the value of a replacement pump. Since I was unable to repair the motor, I bought a replacement pump. (NOTE: I've since discovered my native pool supply store will rebuild pool pump motors; I would have saved a couple of dollars going that route).
The sensible news is it absolutely was terribly easy to remove the old pump and install the new one. However, this was largely as a result of I was just replacing the exact same model. The pipe fittings simply unscrew from the previous unit and screw back onto the new unit. The electrical hook up needed some manuevering inside tiny areas (you have to require the cap off the tip of the motor and then connect the wires, the match is tight), but nothing too troublesome. I do a ton of fix-it projects around the house, therefore this wasn't too troublesome. I would rate it easy, however it may be moderately difficult to switch the pump for the non-DIYer.
In addition to the pump, I've had to interchange the Phantom Turbo cleaner and fix one Goldline (Hayward) valve actuator and replace another actuator. While I liked the look of the Phantom Turbo, it is terribly poorly made and was simply broken beneath normal usage. The actuators had an inclination to urge water in them, despite being installed (I presume) correctly. Since I've had to repair or replace nearly $1000 in Hayward equipment in 3 years, I'm not too pleased with the standard if their product anymore.

Easily installed(if you are mechanically minded and are not afraid of working with electricity).Quiet operation, good warranty, quailty product.Works with both 110 and 240 volt systems.
